Garrett and Lona Oostdyk founded the company as Picture Perfect Sound in 2003 to build easy-to-use, state-of-the-art music and home theater systems for homeowners. They quickly gained a reputation as the go-to leader for high-end stereo and home theater installations.
But with an economic and housing crisis looming in 2008, Garrett and Lona began looking for new opportunities and new markets to serve. That’s when Jonathan DeNeal joined the team.
A native of Hoopeston, Jonathan ventured to Music City itself—Nashville—in 2002 to learn studio recording and live sound production. He also installed and programmed home A/V systems with one of Nashville’s top companies for five years, learning every best practice and trick of the trade.
Jonathan returned to central Illinois in 2008 with a thorough understanding of home A/V as well as expertise in pro audio and live sound production. Combined with his passion for local churches, he was exactly what Picture Perfect Sound needed to begin serving clients in churches and area businesses.

Jonathan bought the company in 2015 when the Oostdyks retired. He renamed it Picture Perfect Technologies to reflect his interest in serving home, business, and church clients in all aspects of custom audio and video.
